Jonathan Land Poems

I have heard the screams
of millions
in complete
disharmony
...

2.

And you would pause
in the middle of the letter,
and hold the pen in awe,
and the ink would flow freely,
...

Close your eyes
lightly and completely
watch the insides
of your eyelids.
...

There is a
strom brewing, child.
Do not grace me with
disbelief in your eyes,
...

A slow drink
A pillow unturned for a while,
maybe a little too long
A portrait of a sad girl I
...

The basics are:
Sleep, eat, shower, write
...

A quiet musing with you
in front of the fireplace,
sipping wine,
would surely lead to
...

Yes, just go on
smoking that cigarette,
little girl on the wall.
Your big and innocent
...

I would
sing myself to sleep
if I did not already know
I would be so enchanted
...

10.

With every passing day
I grow
not older
but all the more myself
...

A flock of angels
is waiting for me
beating and flapping
their wings in midair
...

12.

My first language, I've spoken it from birth,
that of comprehension
comes in use many times a day.
It speaks in delusions of perfection
...

13.

Like the hunter
I follow tracks.
The long bars seem mournful
either for my fate or for their own
...

In the darkest corner
of yesterday's face
the child sits
frozen with fear
...

15.

All men are born as victories
to the generation before
and die as heroes
to the generation after.

The Best Poem Of Jonathan Land

(i Have Heard The Screams)

I have heard the screams
of millions
in complete
disharmony
I've heard you scream out
onto the night
never shall I
be free

I've seen them all
dressed in white
I've seen them
dressed in black
Oh, I've seen them marching
to their doom
and never looking
back

I've tasted
bitter ashes
I have tasted
bitter shame
I have tasted blood
that was not mine
and I will never
be the same

I've felt you arm
hug my back
I've felt your
hammering fist
Of all the things
that I have felt
those two
I have missed

I have marched with
the religious man
he of no
belief
And when we stopped
to camp and rest
we both look back
with grief

For the hills were alive
with the sound
but he was dead
inside
And as for me
I couldn't even
tell you
why I cried

I don't know
what else to write
I don't know
what to say
will you ever
call me mad
cause I can't
find the way

Will you understand
my words
and waltz into
my head
or will you turn to me
and say
it's time to go
to bed
