Compassionate tolerance in lieu
Of cold indifference to any acceptance
Void of the essence of relevance

Twilight stalking the night, predatory stance
Opens door for velvet blackness to advance
Stars hypnotized in lunar trance
Ideal setting for earthly romance

What if death should suddenly up and die?
Would humanity weep a mournful cry?
Or, would rejoicing engulf the world
Where new rules of living would surely unfurl?

Myth of freedom screams loud and clear
Clamoring to what we hold so dear
Dreaming a lasting peace will appear
Not to have it evokes insecure fear

Arriving full circle facing mortal clouds
Joys of life far from maddening crowds
Life is a beautiful winding lane
Happily venturing from whence we came

A syndrome flowing systemic within humanity
Devours the spirit like preying vultures
Touches the very core of insanity
Yet permeates all cultures

Grasping for the unusual in poetic beauty
Must write expanding call of duty
Uneasy feelings creep into the soul
Sending forth a chill, emotions unfold
