Sultry scents of evening darkness chase the crisp vivacious day.
And like a lover his hunger reaches out to embrace.
Caressing the earth with a yearning deep, he touches.
Warm and softly wet, with the knowing of ages, he lays.

I'll take away your pain.
Whatever it was, that I did,
I won't do it again.

I know that you're inside me.
I feel you like a flame.
My limbs are softly glowing,
my eyes, like drops of rain.

There they stood at the doorway to my pain.
I didn't want to see them there.
The little girl, eyes bright with tears.
Lips quivering with the unsaid words of childhood, wanting love.

Tis wrong to think of such things as what's right.
When with pen to paper,
from your heart you do write.
For what lies within, is your truth beyond doubt.

My precious child, sleep well tonight.
Safe in the knowing of everything right.
Your world is your oyster, and you are its' pearl.
She'll nurture and guide you, as your dreams unfurl.

Why do you slash your tender heart,
with a knife honed sharp by remembered pain.
Lay down the weapon of your mind,
and rest in the arms of surrender.
