Katrina Billingsley Poems

1.

Suffocating
barely breathing
head under water
wrists are bleeding.
...

2.

You say that you and him are really over.
You say that you just want off this roller coaster.
Don't want to build this love,
just to tear it apart again.
...

3.

In your arms, I lie
listening to your soft breath.
I close my eyes,
your hands upon my skin.
...

4.

When I close my eyes
I see your hand upon my cheek.
I take in a breath
and let out a sigh.
...

5.

Gaslighter, backslider.
Doing anything to get yourself farther.
Gaslighter, denier.
Promised you would be a good father.
...

6.

Addicted

Flaunting my body,
living unholy.
...

7.

Get your head together kid,
You're smarter than this.
A mother's words,
proving that life isn't full of bliss.

Suffocating
barely breathing
head under water
wrists are bleeding.

Help! Help!
My mind is screaming.
Eyes closing
I've given up hoping.

Boom! Thud!
The door is opening.
In you're arms I lie,
you are begging and pleading.
This isn't goodbye.

On the phone with the medics,
you cry.
How can life flash by,
in the blink of an eye?
