Kelvin Gene Lee I Poems

In the brokenness of life a people stand
Destroying each other with no regret
Shattered by the works of selfish hands
And greetings of kisses they do not forget
...

With a purpose; I was given life
With no clue of where I was going
But in my path awaited potholes and strife
Where in His plan; He started showing
...

Consider the way of smallest leaf
That grows on the biggest tree
Humbly serving in the life it lives
Just from planting a tiny seed
...

There is a war going inside of us
That we sometimes can’t explain
Battles that cripple our reasoning
Where good thoughts are often slain
...

There is a fear that drives every soul
To immeasurable doubt and despair
Where worry and fright brings silently
Sure death to the love we share
...

The Broken Race

In the brokenness of life a people stand
Destroying each other with no regret
Shattered by the works of selfish hands
And greetings of kisses they do not forget

How beautiful the words of the songs they sing
Chanting only in the interest of themselves
While intentions are to sacrifice the pons for kings
Then throw them away like broken shelves

From the hurt of the masses the learned are lifted up
With all hope and rue in their eyes
They open a few doors by sipping a cup
From the table of the wolf in a shepherd’s disguise

As hands reach up from the masses below
The learned shamefully turns away
With betrayal and deception that send a blow
To the weak they now see as prey

Now the masses walk in the struggle if life
Suffering and longing to see God’s Face
Betrayed with a kiss and a blood-stained knife
Behold the lives of the broken race.
