There stood dear old Charlie, And all of us we felt sorry For soon he would be food for dogs I never thought he would be eaten up like a hog. There sadly sat Cassie Right know far from being sassy Eyes damp with tears Hearts fool of fears For Charlie was a horse And was the best 'of cores'. Years come and go as so we know We to shall soon go So weep no more Some day ye go to the golden door Were havens gate Dear Charlie will whet Were Cassie yes ye shall come And crying will forever have begun.
