In a crowd of lonely souls
Wondering how I got so high
And when I’ll ever get low

I saw the land, I saw the plains
I took a needle, and injected it into my veins
Starry eyed was I for a while
Until I saw that the sky stretched on for miles

Peace and love died
Before the wall went down in 1989
That's when the world went white and black
Because one man got shot in the back

I try to escape the norm by dressing like everyone else
I try too hard to be cool and lose sight of who I am
I dye my hair different colors to shock people even though my intention is to attract attention
I say random things and show off so I can get a reaction
...

Choose this day
This day for you alone
And hope it doesn’t haunt you
When you grow old
...

I could walk 500 miles
And get my recognition
I could grow a pair or two
And choose my own religion
...

She’s looking for you, you know?
But you don’t seem of interest
She’s waiting for you, in the cold
But you’re just lost in the rest
