Olalekan Daniel Kehinde Poems

i knew her love was only in small letters
& reddish paint of lovely shapes,
but never in the loving heart that pumped
beats of rhapsodic rhythms, slowly.

do you not see me in the tornado that cries,
that i whirl like a coward child in a swing set?

do you not know that i am the one in your feet

I Knew

i knew her love was only in small letters
& reddish paint of lovely shapes,
but never in the loving heart that pumped
beats of rhapsodic rhythms, slowly.

i knew the old tickles and romances
would be the demons that'll haunt me -
i knew. i knew on this same bed i'd journey
miles, tossing to & fro, dreaming yesterday.

i knew new knees would beg you home
with little finger cuff of sparkling head
stretched before your trembling finger,
i knew your love was only in small letters.
