Who I Am Poem by Olalekan Daniel Kehinde

Who I Am

do you not see me in the tornado that cries,
that i whirl like a coward child in a swing set?

do you not know that i am the one in your feet
whose beauty you dab ugly with your fancy shoes?

do you not chase me with brooms like a mad man
when i trail you to the shadows of your corridors?

you do not know that my parts live in the seas,
that they call for my remains to swim in depth...

you do not know that i have a peaceful domain
upon which you mount your sinking self & home...
