My Mother, Motherland
Whose laps gave me
My mother's love and care
Whose air blew within
My lungs, as I respire,
Whose fluids flow in
My veins, as blood
Whose ground raised me
I learnt to run and to stand.
Whose fruits and leaves
Fed me to give a body so strong.
Whose rivers through the year
Helped me ferry roads long.
Whose greenery in the fields
Brought me up with care-
She is my mother, my land,
My Motherland, so rare.
