Paul Brenthley Adan Poems

1.

It was never about the implicit emotions given by unique circumstances but rather of understanding and consequences…
You have shown me that the light shines away from the moon and the sun the only light you see.

I have no wish to wake your slumber nor to disturb your calm disposition… I have accepted my faith and that is to view you from afar and watch another hold your hand.
...

You revive the frailty that is I.
It is in you that the meek find themselves in a dance with daggers,
The brave wishing for courage and the moon shining like the sun…

3.

Words are but mere manifestations of images of how we want to be.
Eloquent phrases and exuberant quotes may challenge the hardest of hearts
But it is never quite the same to envision your goal and speak the simplest of words
...

Anonymity of identity may serve as a curse…
But it may serve as the only protection from your judgement.
The psyche of a female is unfathomable… it is the whirlpool that draws interest
It is the moat that surrounds the façade.
...

I write my feelings but words are lost with you as my inspiration
The stare and glaze of your eyes give me life…
Aloof as you may be, I understand that the role I must play is one that I detest
I can only wait for you… your heart is chained to another.

Light

It was never about the implicit emotions given by unique circumstances but rather of understanding and consequences…
You have shown me that the light shines away from the moon and the sun the only light you see.

I have no wish to wake your slumber nor to disturb your calm disposition… I have accepted my faith and that is to view you from afar and watch another hold your hand.

I have fooled myself long enough to see that my hopes be reality, I have longed enough to feel that ends mean nothing and that beginnings masks only disappointments

I fear that I have abandoned my dream but in its place is the regret that I didn’t even had the chance…
