Nothing seems to have changed
since we last spoke
two years ago to the day
I remember the words we said that night
the abuse you hurled

Your pale face was haunting
your green eyes flashed with anger
a fire blazed once more
the flames of hate
destroyed the human part of you
you only seem empty and cold

Do you remember suffering
or even being in pain
I don’t think you know how it feels
to have loved and been hurt so badly
my heart still aches from the memory
of what you did to me

I leave you behind
trapped inside your shell
and although you can’t harm me any more
my wounds will never heal
