068. Death Poem by Dipankar Sadhukhan

068. Death

Rating: 5.0

O Death! how cruel you are!
Why are you so merciless?
It's you who sometimes
Make a child orphan.
Sometimes you make a woman widow.
It's you who conspire with Time
And like a professional burglar
Stealthily enter the gate of life.
You are really a coward.

You tried hard to take away my life
When a coconut fell on my head
About thirteen years ago.
You applied your force over me.
I was suffering badly from pain and agony
Day after day, month after month
But you were laughing at me.
At last you drew back
Being defeated by my will power.

I was then a premature boy
Like an unbloomed rose
And my dream was unfulfilled
But you are always shameless.
Today my Love has carried me
To the peak of success.
My heart is aching with joy.
Tears are rolling down in bliss.
My heart has never been so happy.

O death! where are you now?
Have you forgotten me?
Come to me like a hero.
I will not keep you standing
At the door of my life.
Come and meet me.
I am ready to face you
As it is the richest moment for me
To embrace you blissfully.

In this poem the will power to live has defeated Death, the huge monster. The presentation is so excellent. You deserve 10.
