RIC BASTASA

13 - Poem by RIC BASTASA

ONE That tells me
the true color of my soul
intimacies like vine
to a tree
faithfulness like
the sun to the mountain
shining on early mornings
without fail
one that i am at home with
with others are
taken by the storms of
my confusions
and needs
one who takes me for
what i am
identifies with me
during my
crucifixions
one who stands by me
when i sink as a ship
abandoned by
all the rats
and cockroaches
water to my pail
air to my lungs
sugar to my coffee
lemon to my
honey.
