#203 Nonbinary Poem by Ezra Lawhn

#203 Nonbinary

I felt strange
In some ways, I always knew
I guess understanding is a change
And I can't imagine what it's like for you

I was born in a binary body
With a nonbinary head
This form feels shoddy
But, I'm not a man instead

I feel new
I feel better
Like I finally have a clue
Though I don't follow to the letter

I'm still femme(innin)
I'm still me
I just go by they/them
I know it's not what you want to see

I have felt it for at least a year
I have felt it in my bones
Here's a nonbinary person, hope you cheer
Now let's go get ice cream cones.
