#216 Questions Endless, Answers Few

Why do the stars only shine at night?
Why do we say sorry only when we’re wrong?
Why do two wrongs never make a right?
Why are nights so short and days so long?

If time is on our side, why is there never enough?
Why do we not know what we have til it’s gone?
Why does the tough get going only when the going gets tough?
Why must we find someone new before we can move on?

Why can we only see the wind as it blows through trees?
We do we only smell the roses in the morning?
Why are ideas wrong until someone else agrees?
Why is it always too late before we hear the warning?

Why do we only drum to our own beat?
Why must we sleep before we can awake?
Why must we be standing before we take a seat?
Why do things seem so well just before they break?

Why do we have to lose before we can win?
Why do we search for what’s in front of us?
Why do we have to do it once before we can do it again?
Why are the most important things the hardest to discuss?

Why are we loners just because we don’t fit in?
Why do we have to see before we believe it’s true?
Why does where we are determine where we’ve been?
Why are the questions endless but the answers so few?
