#226 Nature And Soul Poem by Jimmie Arrington

#226 Nature And Soul

Detach your self,
Isolate your mind.
Let nature and soul
Perpetually bind.

Go somewhere you love
Or find someplace new,
Where peace abounds
Around and within you.

Don’t speak aloud,
Do not talk at all
Yet say goodbye to cares
And watch the snowflakes fall.

Steady a candle deep
Into the virgin snow,
Light the wick and see
It’s small yet pleasant glow.

The melting maroon wax
Emits a pleasant scent;
First of ripened cherries,
Then of fresh peppermint.

Watch the smoke rise
In its skyward dance.
It swirls and takes shape.
It bends, it curves and slants.

It turns blue, then green,
Then combines making red.
Slowly it flies above
Into the Heaven spread.

The smoke forms pictures
From your memories,
Faces that you know
And anything you please.

Let blissful thoughts
Fill your anxious mind
Let soothing visions
Leave your grief behind.

The candle burns for days
Then reaches its end.
Bid farewell to its grace,
Though soon you’ll meet again.
