#228 A Pleasant Dream Poem by Jimmie Arrington

#228 A Pleasant Dream

You were a pleasant dream,
A blessing as I slept.
You were a gentle stream,
Right through my heart, you crept.

You were my best friend,
To whom I gave my heart.
You were the perfect blend
Of mystery and art.

You were a soft lullaby,
Calming my every fear.
You were a bright butterfly
Whose beauty brought a tear.

You were a tender breeze
That lifted my heavy chin.
You were the cure for life’s disease
And made me well again.

You were the Moon’s silver beam
And dawn’s glow at daybreak.
You were my pleasant dream,
From which I never wished to wake.
