#259 Imagine Poem by Jimmie Arrington

#259 Imagine

Imagine I were a bright flower
Waking in the dawning hour,
Soaked with morning dew.
If I were a bright flower,
I would bloom for you.

Imagine I were the scalding sun
Shining when the day is done,
With night swiftly coming to.
If I were the scalding sun,
I would set for you.

Imagine I were the midnight moon
Singing night’s soft tune,
Hanging pale and blue.
If I were the midnight moon
I would glow for you.

Imagine I were the freezing rain,
And clouds could not contain,
No, they could not subdue.
If I were the freezing rain,
I would pour for you.

Imagine I were a wild river
With a mission to deliver,
That’s exactly what I’d do.
If I were a wild river,
I would rush for you.

Imagine I were a human heart
Life’s conclusion and start,
Life’s liquid running through.
If I were a human heart,
I would beat for you.

Imagine I were real Love
Sent from Heaven above,
Yes, genuine and true.
If I were real Love,
I would fall in love with you.
