#288 Nothing About Love Poem by Jimmie Arrington

#288 Nothing About Love

How do you stop dreaming
When you were never even asleep?
How do you let go of someone
Who you weren’t supposed to keep?

How do you give a second kiss
To a girl you’ve never kissed?
How do you miss someone
Who doesn’t want to be missed?

How can you be “just friends”
When your heart wants much more?
How do you stop the rain
When it’s a northern downpour?

How do you hold on
To someone you’ve never held?
How do you come back
After you’ve been dispelled?

How do you keep quiet
While you scream from rooftops?
How do you speak your mind
While wiping goodbye tear drops?

How do you continue thinking
When she’s all you can think of?
How do you stop loving someone
When you know nothing about love?

In the end it doesn’t matter if I sink or swim,
As long as I know she’s happy with him.
