#310 How To Say Goodbye - Poem by Jimmie Arrington
I know how to say hello.
I know how to fake a smile.
I know how to go with the flow.
I know how to give notice a while.
Certainly I know how to try,
But I don’t know how to say goodbye.
I know how to cope.
I know how to distance the brink.
I know how to hope.
I know how to love, I think.
Of course I know how to lie,
But I don’t know how to say goodbye.
I know how to dream.
I know how to feel.
I know how to scream.
I know how to deal.
Yes, I know how to just get by,
But I don’t know how to say goodbye.
I know how to fight my fears.
I know how to pretend I’m sane.
I know how to hide my tears.
I know how to endure the pain.
Surely by now I know how to cry,
But I don't know how to say goodbye.
Rudyard Kipling
