313. Mahatma Gandhi, The Harbinger Of Peace Poem by Dipankar Sadhukhan

India gave birth to such a person
Whose name bears his character.
A great soul was Mahatma Gandhi
Who became the saviour of all mankind.

Though he lived a very simple life,
He was so gorgeous in personality.
He was a true leader of the nation
And a great humanist by identification.

Such a person was he who never told a lie
To fight against falsity and unjustness
And taught the whole world
How to love and serve mankind.

Wearing a loincloth
And walking with a stick
He took the responsibility
Of the whole nation.

Almost everyone honoured
And admired him unconditionally
As he was the worshipper of Truth
And non violence - the divine power.

He is called the father of the nation
And the harbinger of peace of the world.
Such a man will never be forgotten
For his principles; for his work.
