344. Poem by Jaden Knight

344.

I have no bones of my own
yet I can cause a great deal of damage
easily mend or break a heart
shatter and create your delusions
I am your tongue

I give you the gift of sight
and can be deceived or blinded at will
you can not perceive the world as you do
when I work no longer
I am your eyes

I cannot see but I can help create
or destroy as the need arises
can contemplate nothing for hours
or the infinite universe in a second
I can imprison you without locks and keys
but I can also set you free
I am your mind

I am the one who gets to leave this world
when the body finally fails
and our time here is at an end
to be judged by a divine power
should they choose to do so
I am your immortal soul
