368. Poem by Jaden Knight

368.

And so in her final attempt to take him out
she sent down lava to destroy him
yet to her surprise he laughed
despite the lake around him

The magma could not harm his skin or clothes
not even leaving a mark
he looked into her eyes as he inhaled deeply
and sucked it all in to his mouth

To her he said in ringing tones
your inferno could never touch me
those who are living fire could never be harmed
your feeble attempts have been added to my flames within
and it's only made me stronger

She gave up and left him in the end
as he continued to burn brightly
fuelled by an unknown source
but still a beacon of hope
