#386 Out Of Sight, Never Out Of Mind Poem by Jimmie Arrington

#386 Out Of Sight, Never Out Of Mind

She found me sitting near a stream,
Deeply lost in thought.
I was awake but in a dream,
Red eyed and distraught.

She asked me if I was ok.
Her voice startled me.
My mind was on a long gone day,
A warm memory.

She found me staring at the stars,
Lost in thought once more.
Mulling over old wounds and scars
Too raw to ignore.

I'm sure someday I'll be alright,
I'll leave the past behind.
Although you may be out of sight
You're never out of mind.
