.5. Grubby Greenhouse Poem by David Threadgold

.5. Grubby Greenhouse

My greenhouse glass is very green
The sunlight can’t get through
I see it every day I pass
And know what I must do

To give my plants a fighting chance
I must clean off the grime
Then buy myself a scraper
To scrape the thicker slime

A bucket full of soapy suds
With lots of cloths and rags
Won’t last long with so much filth
I’ll need some big black bags

Cloth’s and rags filled up the bags
Like a soggy compost heap
My efforts cleared the final slime
Ingrained so very deep

My greenhouse now as good as new
From the high points to the low
Now letting sunlight in once more
To help my plants all grow
