64 Poem by Freya Grace

64

I want to hold you
while we
fall in lust
and break
the law

I want to fiddle beside you
while you
cover the city in
kerosene

I want to overthrow
everything
and burn it flat
to rebuild a world
in your image
or maybe just
my image of you

I want
I want
I want
you
beside me
inside me
not in a crude way
I want you inside like I
have devoured you

light the fire
play the tune
lets fiddle and f- - and wait
for something to rise from the ashes

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
If you're wondering (and I know someone is, since they asked) , this is titled '64' because 64 AD was the year Rome burned while the Emperor, Nero, supposedly fiddled.

Awesome! Why the title is 64? Could we have a short 'Poet's Note' on this?
