672. I Am Not A Lonely Lighthouse Poem by Jaden Knight

672. I Am Not A Lonely Lighthouse

I am not a lonely lighthouse
even though I am by myself
standing proudly in my red and white stripes
perched high up on the rocky cliffs
overlooking the bay below

Birds soar over my head by day
their cries being heard for miles around
their sounds are like a lullaby to me
sending me into a peaceful rest

At night I awake and fulfil my duty
my light shining bright for all to see
keeping the ships at sea safe from the rocks
as they make their way into port

Am happy to be a light house
even though I am by myself
but with friends like the birds flying around
I can never truly be alone
