80 Years Later Poem by Dorsey Baker

80 Years Later

Landing on that Normandy beach
1944
Brave men fought
Brave men died
Because of them
Freedom still stands
And the flag
Still waves high

80 years later
We still remember
It was such
A bloody battle
Facing life or death
Young men on a bloody battlefield
Serving with honor
Selfless determination
Win the victory
No matter what the cost

Now we celebrate them
With so much love and respect
These brave warriors
80 years later!
