990 Wisdom Poem by V F

Today I have grown wiser…
I’ve never wanted to catch a rainbow
I’ve never wanted to bottle up sunshine
I’ve never wanted to own the mountains
And I’ve never wanted to capture the sky
I‘ve loved all of these and more
Yet did not want to make them mine
Which is when I thought why you?
Whose smile is more precious than the purest of pearls,
Dispelling the gloom which at times threatens to drown.
Whose happiness gives me the greatest joy?
Who says nothing yet everything, making my soul sing.
Who has loved me to heaven and back
Sans word or touch.
I know we belong to others
But I also know it is not wrong to love
Tell me how can something
which feels so beautiful and right to my soul be wrong?

Yes, today I have grown wiser..
For I have learnt it is enough that I love.
