I can't seem to separate
Love, from losing you
I want to love again
But not sure now if it's the thing to do

Every time I think of love
My thoughts all run to you
Although I try hard to forget
The pain still seems so new

Hopefully one day I'll find
A way to move on
But until that day arrives
For now, my feelings of love are gone

It's not that I've given up on love
But I'm still kind of bitter
Never before in my life
Have I been known as a quitter

So, from love I need to take
A long extended break
I know I have to do this
If only for my heart's sake

It's almost funny how a single emotion
Can leave one so bruised and battered
But never in my wildest dreams
Did I think love would leave me shattered
