A Broken Heart Poem by Alexander Romanov

A Broken Heart

Rating: 2.8

A broken heart utters a cry of agony & pain
Tears of mine are falling in a silent rain
It started to rain in the middle of the sun
O god, it seems my winter hath begun
We broke up my Mistress, I still wonder why
My sorrow & grief are obscured in the murky grey sky
Your lips are as sweet as heavenly wine
Goddess, will thy love ever be mine
Thy voice is like the singing of a lovely nightingale
I hope that in protecting thee I shall never fail
Will thy forgiveness ever be given to me?
May the stars of heavens shine upon thee
Thou filled my life with pleasure & delight
I beg never leave me, O Lady Starlight
Thou brought me from the land of sorrows into paradise
I comprehend this only now when I am old and wise
Bitter words would mean little to me
As all the wind of time will blow right through me
But now all my miseries & sorrows hath gone
My soul from my chilled body away hath flown
My love & worship for thee, O Goddess will never die
Even as my soul drifts with the turbulent winds in the sky
Time cannot mend the pieces of a broken heart
Only true love can light the fire to forge them from the start
I pray that the day when our souls will reunite would finally come
And form the land of misery and despair I would roar: Freedom, Freedom, Freedom!
