A Butterfly In The Desert Poem by Pen Anthony

A Butterfly In The Desert

In a world maimed with evil
In a country marred with corruption
In a city of mad people
Lies a soul unscathed

Her wings spread
Her beauty dazzles
She's the only true mouthpiece
She's a butterfly

A butterfly in the desert
Sooner rather than later
The desert will wring life off her
Never ascending the helm

She's greatness subdued
The system isn't ready
For a woman to steer her
Our own undoing we cast her
A butterfly to the desert
