A Child's Verse Of Gardening Poem by Chas Weeden

A Child's Verse Of Gardening

Rating: 5.0

"Just a minute, can't we finish this game,
We may set a record for gold coins claimed, "
Say them to your offer of trowel and seeds -
"Oh, no, I'm dead, another game, please! "

For planting a garden just can't compete,
The effort provides no flashes nor beeps,
The dirt is dirty with little to show
A worm or bug is as good as it goes.

And beans and peas are a phone call away
Up comes a truck with fresh produce in trays.
Why should anyone go through the toil
To plant and grow their veggies from soil?

But immerse your hands into the dirt,
And smell the essence of earth and leaf mold;
For Gardening teaches something that's True -
A lesson of life more precious than gold.
