To Li Po Poem by Chas Weeden

To Li Po

Rating: 5.0

In 762, Li Po drowned after falling into a lake
trying to embrace the reflection of the moon.

Li Po, it is just a reflection -
Seeking the yin, why fall in
to the glimmer upon the lake?
The radiant moon attends
to a splash then struggle
of your drowning end.

I too pursue reflection
but know it as a ruse
and that it is not true.
Still, being on the water,
I paddle hard to begin
the pursuit of my own yin.

So many others pursue
Your imitative orb;
A life's work towards
what will not be.But,
is that not the reflection
of the true you?
