A Christmas So Different

A Christmas So Different
by Varghese Kuncheria is from my poetry book Opening My Heart published at Amazon with ISBN-13 979-8734088937.

This Christmas is different from all,
Though travel plans are all at bay,
Far from the usual madding crowd,
Relaxed and anxieties driven away,
Planning not just for the year ahead,
But eternally, more than ever before.

This is a generation that's blessed,
And I'm happy to be a living witness,
Though things are bad as they are,
Worse than Sodom and Gomorrah,
To live in a time relevant than any,
Makes this century uniquely historic.

Many have longed to see the finale,
To the world's madness and atrocities,
Hoped when all this would culminate,
Hoped for a peaceful co-existence,
But to think that things are at the door,
Is a real solace to the broken hearted.

Many live as it's another phase of life,
And go through all the perils somehow,
Yet not wise enough to see the signs,
Of the end revealed in front of our eyes,
Many in this generation may live to see,
The Prince of Peace coming in glory.
