A Circle He Drew Poem by Iman Sadikeen

A Circle He Drew

Drawing a circle around I
'Stay in bounds'told he,
'Cross not the line'
'We shall be mere fellows'added he.

Stayed I within, the line untrod
Or did I tread it? unknowingly?
know i not confirmedly
'Tell me if i had'pleaded I with he.

Stand I now alone in the circle
For gone he has, displeased
on the breach, i had forfeit
Alas, a lovelorn simpleton i be!

Gaze I at the direction
From whence he had exit
My bitter heart weeps relentlessly
One precious thing I had so lost!

Nevertheless remain I shall farther from him
If that be his desire,
What more could I do?
But detached and remote I shall be.

I still keep waiting here
my eyes ever so alert
saving all my love
still looking there, he departed from!
