A Cities Calamity Poem by Luis Lazcano

A Cities Calamity

Rating: 5.0

i believe you were the only one
who could bring these dirty clouds to town
well can't you see it's raining?
my dear, you've got many shelters
why ruin mine?

you made this city collapse
and tried to look back, but a glance wasn't enough
i can clearly hear your steps running away
while thirsty fog chains my eyes down

i believe you are a stranger,
and i was told there wasn't gonna be a storm tonight
Isn't this a crime?
this city is ruins

The shattered walls can't hold anymore,
will you let this city crumble?

well i have bad news for you

the moon is out tonight
you can't stop the lights
you can't stop the lights

i can show you how this shattered past rises
under your storm

you can't stop the lights
you can't stop this now

its not your time dear
your cold shoulders have frozen

i will be waiting
not in despair
not in revenge
not under the shades
watch me as you fall with elegance

you can't touch this lights
you can't stop this anymore
your storm is gone
what a shame
