A Compliant Mark Poem by Eillio Imbasciati

A Compliant Mark

Malleable, pliable, passive?
He's everybody and no one at the same time:
All ego, no purpose,
So scatological, who long ago fell into obscurity
Way back, before he shared words with the sky,
He understood that sometimes one has little choice when or if they burn out or fade away,
Or maybe nothing happens at all, and he's been there himself a time or two as well
Seems that life in itself is a fight,
Fueled by one's own arguments
But what if he just wants to agree, to go along?
Then he is judged as a compliant mark,
Eliciting neutral responses to his function that lacks a true form
