A Compliment- The Anguish In Disguise Poem by DEEPAK KUMAR PATTANAYAK

A Compliment- The Anguish In Disguise

A compliment seemed
Stealing away her dreams
Turned out to be
The anguish in disguise
Though brought out her smiles
Yet ignorant of his motives
Softer ones from velvet lips
Adorning her with flatteries
Not enamoured of her beauty
Yet played upon
The vanity of her beauty
Too fragile to resist unscrupulous man
Love blossomed
But in no time withered
Petal by petal
Trampled away by impropriety.....

Behind honeyed words can be deceit and treachery.... A woman should be wise enough to descriminate between the genuine and the sham! Here love blossomed and withered in no time! ! !
