A Connection Poem by Ray Hansell

A Connection

I'm afraid of my feelings
When I hear from you
I'm afraid of the way they make me feel
Not knowing what to do

We've never seen each other
In fact we've never met
The feelings that I feel
Are feelings I can't forget

Your warm touching words
That I read each day
Sometimes touch me to the core
With the things you have to say

I sometimes think you know me
By some of the things you say
It's as if you passed through my life
Or, actually lived there one day

It seems the thoughts we share
At times are the same
As we both navigate
Through life's little game

At times people just connect
Whether near or far
I don't know the answers
Maybe they are written in the stars
