A Contrast Poem by Nassy Fesharaki

A Contrast

A Contrast

On his way to go out
He stopped for a talk.

The core of his work is:
"Finding, fighting racists,
Using words, preaching! "

Looked at wall in front,
And smiled and told him:
"The surface for painting? "

He stared wondering,
I went on speaking:
"Lifestyle needs changing,
Our hearts, minds and thinking,
Since they are depths of seas! "

I showed him a message,
On WhatsApp, had received,
There, people were dancing.

Voice over, I told him:
"Men, women of Iran,
Are in line to depart…"

Then after, explained:
"To receive injection,
Sputnik of Russians
Not at home but outside,
In the lands of neighbors! "

I could see in his eyes:
"Here, you, are begging,
Every old, young, and kid
To go in, get vaccine! "
