A Creator's Tools Poem by Michael Sweetbird

A Creator's Tools

Rating: 4.5

A star explodes sending shockwaves thousands of light-years wide
which surge through and compress a nebula's rainbowed grace
joining oxygen with hydrogen which gravitate towards a pulsing star
and brings glistening children of God to come in joy to stand
by the newest waterfalls of space.

At the children’s feet a watery pool
Light years wide, unfathomably deep
Its waters scooped by physics rules
And propelled in globes far.. far.. far
by flaming pulse from kindly star.

Astronomical photographs have been made of this..
Watery globes becoming moons of Saturn and Jupiter
And In The Beginning planet earth as evidenced by Word of His
“In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth;
and the earth was without form and void;
and darkness was upon the face of the deep;
and the Spirit of God moved upon the waters.”

Science knows that from a molecule in water rock will grow
“And God said, Let the waters under the heaven be gathered together unto one place,
and let the dry land appear: and it was so.”
That in the midst of the waters the earth arose..

from those waterfalls in space.

I love the way you combine science and religion in this poem. The imagery is beautiful and you manage to make scientific words seem beautiful and poetic. Good work =)
