A Day Defiled Poem by Chris Jibero

A Day Defiled

There is no love
In a day defiled
And debased
A dead man crucified
Acursed in sainthood
Condemned by revellers
On this day designed
By a heart of gold
For lifting up aching souls
Sitting on ash heaps
Take heart St. Valentine.
