A Day In Split Screen Poem by Nassy Fesharaki

A Day In Split Screen

A day in split screen

1.
Comedian is on the radio
-a friend with me
-audience is heard
-roaring with laughter
-friend:
- "One of them is me…"
-I look…thinking:
- "What does that mean? "

2.
I read a poem "In the desert"
-Stephen Crane sees a creature,
-bestial, squatting upon the ground,
-holding his heart in his hands,
-eating…that is him…
-rich in meaning

3.
Washington-post has it:
-Secretary of State
-Rex Tillerson:
- "United States must…
-work… towards…
-…support of those elements inside of Iran;
-…to a peaceful transition of that government."

4.
Putin and Trump
-doubled their scheduled meeting time
-behind the closed doors
-only ministers of foreign affairs
-and translators:
- "Syria will witness peace from Sunday…"

5.
Squat, eating heart
-am set to become fog
-thinking of "Independence,
-freedom, peoples' human-rights"
-in trance question: "Faith? Hate? love? "
