A Day We Met Poem by Sudipta Bhattacharyya

A Day We Met

Wandering aimlessly in the mostClaustrophobic city, Seemingly decorated With lights and brightened stores,
Suddenly I saw your face in the most
Crowded street, as if you came down
From heaven, you opened your eyes,
The most beautiful crystal eyes
I have ever seen, your uncovered skin
So smooth, so tender, gentle smile so
Innocence, so loving that I thought about You in every way Just sitting and Wondering about the way...
Then we met, talked hesitantly,
We laughed heartily, smiled and talked
For a long while that day....
Every passing thought of love
Benumbed us both, when we departed
I felt I love her more than any other person
Has ever loved till then.
