A Deformed Heart Poem by Dean Meredith

A Deformed Heart

It was slightly deformed
However it still resembled a heart
Not so much a human or animal heart
More one of those heart shaped box hearts
But with a piece sliced off one side
It still resembled a heart nonetheless
Before I sliced off another piece and ate it
Now it resembled half a heart or something else
I'm not sure what, maybe an ear of sorts
Not a human or animal ear, perhaps a toy ear
Or something else, I do not know
I might slice off some more, and see what happens
It will get smaller, that's for sure
But what will it be, and will that be the end?
I think not, for there will still be more slicing allowed
Each time smaller, until something very tiny
Maybe resembling a crumb
It might no longer seem deformed
There may be fewer choices
All speculation, until it's done
