A Different Dance Poem by kimberly hays

A Different Dance

Questions you ask
So funny for the answers you seek
You already have
And I laugh
For I danced my life to this beat
For so long that the room had no meaning
I am smiling now
Because while I was looking for you
I found me
I filled me with all the love
I had denied myself
I filled me with beauty
With acceptance
With dreams
I am weak
I rejoice in my weakness
I hold to nothing but this moment
No past full of pain to drag me down
No future to pull me around
Just here
Just now
And my hand held out
"care to try a different dance? "
