Battles Poem by kimberly hays

Battles

I live a battle in my heart
A thousand wars years made apart
I swim a sea of misery filled up with tears
Of drowned out dreams
I dream my dreams of perfect things
That jades my eyes to
Closets of wasted space filled up with wasted things
That I could not cherish
I can't imagine a life built free
Of all these weights
Of all my dreams
Crawling along the ground
Heart pounding hard
I try so hard to get back up
I never fly I barely jump
All I do is wait
And relive my battles to pass my days
