Diwali, the festival of light, is so delightful and rare
So Laxmi spruced up her house with much care
And lighted a few diyas in rows
With a great zeal created artistic rangolis to add uniqueness of the show.
The town looks like a bride in her golden glow
Ready for a new life where hope and pleasure abundantly overflow
Colourful candles, paper lampshades, glittering glass lanterns, flowers add to her beauty
That give her a splendid touch of festivity
Shops are full of sweets of pretty varieties,
To give goddess Laxmi a warm greet and grand treat
People are out in their best outfits.
But Laxmi laments in the darkest corner in her hut
As her dream like a cracker is going to be burst
Everyone is ready to welcome the Goddess of wealth
But her Laxmi is the target of everyone's wrath
With shaking fingers she wipes her tear
The tender Laxmis in neighborhood are ravaged ruthlessly by the violant vultures
Nowhere is secure Laxmi's future
So better to turn for ler Laxmi her womb a tomb
Let her wish explod like a bomb!
Crackers are burst to chase away the evil spirits
Despair died and flowered her unshakeable grit
She lighted a diya of hope in her heart
Her Laxmi will surely see the light at any cost
She will surely sparkle like a glowing star
To dispel darkness and chase away the evil spirits!
